In July 2024, The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care commissioned Lord Darzi to deliver a report on the current state of the NHS and identify key areas for improvement. The report focused on:
- Patient access to healthcare
- The quality of healthcare being provided
- The overall performance of the health system
His first conclusion? The National Health Service is in serious trouble.Â
While not all doom and gloom, the report highlights significant challenges facing the NHS, as well as institutional and governmental shortcomings that have led to these circumstances. Fortunately, the current administration is focused on investing in the NHS to improve outcomes, and Lord Darzi offers them a roadmap for success.Â
Join us in this three-part podcast series, as we introduce our new healthcare advisor for the UK, Andy Kinnear. He joins us alongside current healthcare advisor, David Kwo, for a conversation that addresses:
- The findings of the Darzi report
- The current challenges facing the NHS
- How training, though oft overlooked, can play a measurable role in righting the ship
